Earlier, we reported about how the title of Sivakarthikeyan's upcoming film, Parasakthi, directed by Sudha Kongara, is the same as that of the 1952 film starring Sivaji Ganesan and directed by Krishnan–Panju from an M Karunanidhi screenplay. The film's producer, Dawn Pictures' Aakash Bhaskaran, retained the title rights, fending off protests from Sivaji's fans and eponymous welfare association, as well as coming to an agreement with the makers of Vijay Antony's 25th film, which was subsequently titled Sakthi Thirumagan. Even after all these, Sivakarthikeyan still feels the burden of responsibility to live up to the iconic title. In the recent Aval Vikatan Awards event, which started streaming the other day, Sivakarthikeyan spoke about it. When presented with a photograph featuring his and Sivaji's Parasakthi characters, Sivakarthikeyan said that nobody else can act like the legend. "However, there is the responsibility for saving the name," the actor shared.

Sivakarthikeyan also said that he believes in the film's power, impact and energy to help it live up to the enormous responsibility associated with its title. The actor said that he is not saying the aforementioned just because he plays the lead role, but rather because of his whole cast and crew involved in the film.

Parasakthi is slated for a January 10 release in theatres. The film was earlier scheduled for a January 14 release, but it has been moved ahead by four days. It is set to have a direct box office battle with Vijay-H Vinoth's Jana Nayagan.
