With just a day to go for the release of Yash's mega budget Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, the makers are at the final leg of their promotional spree. As part of the same, the KGF actor, director Geetu Mohandas and many cast members including Rukmini Vasanth attended the pre-release event in Chennai to share details of their much-awaited action thriller to the Tamil audiences. As Yash took the stage, the actor expressed his admiration and praise for CM C Joseph Vijay, and his arduous journey from being a star actor to becoming a top politician in the state.
Yash said, "We have really learned a lot from him, we have admired him for his commitment. Love that he has earned is evident, that's why people has given him this position. We are very happy that he has set a new trend. I can see he is so disciplined and dedicated. Venkat sir (Producer K Venkat Narayana) has often mentioned about his passion and how he works day and night for the welfare of Tamil Nadu."
The actor then went on to add how Vijay has reached the phase of "giving the love and respect back to people of Tamil Nadu." "We all wish him good luck and I think it is a progressive thing. Hope the entire country gets into this kind of politics. I heard that this time, the elections was held in a transparent way. That is a sign that Tamil people have given him that responsibility. He has the capacity to live up to it," he noted.
Starring Yash in dual roles as estranged father and son who are fueding, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is one of the most expensive films ever made. Besides KVN Productions, Yash's Monster Mind Creations has also backed the movie. The film is co-written by Yash and has garnered massive anticipation. Besides Yash, the film features a star-studded cast which includes Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, and Rukmini Vasanth.
Toxic has been shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, with both versions serving as the original productions. The film is set to released also with dubs in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam, making it one of the widest multilingual releases mounted by a Kannada film. The film has been certified 'A' by the CBFC and has a runtime of around 3 hours and 14 minutes.
It is slated for release in theatres on August 26.
