KVN Productions released a roughly five-minute-long trailer for its upcoming film, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, earlier this Saturday. The new promotional video offers a more detailed look at director Geetu Mohandas' film, starring Yash in multiple roles. The Toxic trailer starts with the visual of a child apologising to his father and telling the man not to hurt him. Soon, we learn that the boy has grown up with some form of vengeance for his past in mind. Yash stars in multiple roles in the film, including as the father and son. The Toxic trailer ends with the image of the father-son characters engaged in a physical altercation.

The Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups trailer also offers more space for the female characters in the film, played by Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Rukmini Vasanth, Huma Qureshi, and Tara Sutaria, creating intrigue for their roles.

Yash calls Toxic a "high-octane, roller-coaster ride", says audiences will be "blown away"

Unlike the previously released teasers, it does not contain the women to fleeting moments that merely titillate the viewer. Earlier, the makers of the film faced flak for what netizens described as a case of female objectification.

The new footage is expected to increase the anticipation around the film and take the conversation to a different angle. For example, it showcases a half-naked Yash, rhetorically suggesting whether he is even a 'cultured' man. The trailer promises a film with much action where the stakes are high and with the story weaving in elements of masculinity, the underworld and mafia. The buzz around the film is higher because it is set to mark Yash's first release since the blockbuster KGF: Chapter 2.

The film is directed by Geetu Mohandas from a screenplay she has written with Yash himself. It is produced by Venkat K Narayana of KVN Productions and Yash himself under his Monster Mind Creations banner.

On the technical front, Toxic has composers Ravi Basrur, Vishal Mishra, and Tanishk Bagchi, cinematographer Rajeev Ravi, editor Ujwal Kulkarni, and production designer TP Abid.

Shot in English and Kannada, after multiple delays, the film has finally been slated for an August 26 release in theatres worldwide. It is also expected to have dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. Meanwhile, here is a link to the Toxic trailer:
