Even before it reaches cinemas, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is set to rewrite Karnataka's theatrical record books. With less than three weeks to go for its worldwide release, the Yash-starrer is gearing up for the widest theatrical release ever for a film in the state, with the team eyeing the biggest opening in Karnataka box office history.

The film is set to release across an unprecedented number of screens and shows statewide, while Bengaluru alone is expected to witness a record number of Day One screenings, setting a new benchmark for theatrical exhibition in the city. Early morning and special shows are also being planned to ensure audiences across Karnataka can experience the film from its very first day.

Backing the ambitious rollout are KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, which will also distribute the film across Karnataka themselves instead of relying on an external distributor. Toxic reflects one of the most ambitious theatrical distribution strategies undertaken for an Indian film, with the producers overseeing both the production and distribution of the project.

Written and directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has been shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, with both versions serving as the original productions. The film is set to released also with dubs in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam, making it one of the widest multilingual releases mounted by a Kannada film.

Produced by Venkat K Narayana and Yash under the banners of KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, the film stars Yash alongside Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, and Rukmini Vasanth. The soundtrack features music by Vishal Mishra, Tanishk Bagchi, and Faheem Abdullah, while Ravi Basrur has composed the background score.

Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups releases in cinemas worldwide on August 26, 2026. With its unprecedented statewide rollout, the film is also poised to set a new record for a Kannada film's theatrical release in Karnataka.
