Suriya's magnum opus Kanguva is now running in theatres. The film's release was pushed from October 10 to avoid a clash with Rajinikanth's Vettaiyan.
The period epic is one of the most expensive Indian films ever made and has been in production for several years. Suriya is said to sport multiple different looks for the film, one of which is even inspired from the 2006 Mel Gibson film Apocalypto.
The Siva film stars Bobby Deol, Disha Patani, Jagapathi Babu, Natarajan Subramaniam, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, Anandaraj, and KS Ravikumar in supporting roles. It is positioned as a pan-India release: the makers say it will be released in 38 languages, including English.
Disha Patani makes her Tamil debut with Kanguva, as will Bobby Deol, as the antagonist. It has also been rumored that Karthi will appear in the film. Devi Sri Prasad composes the music for Kanguva.
The fantasy period action film, which will be made in two parts is expected to traverse across multiple time periods.

I believe that the director's job is to create that connection with the audience job," Siva said.
