Suriya's Kanguva moves into post-production

The upcoming film Kanguva, which stars Suriya, has entered the post-production after wrapping up its filming schedule last month.

The film’s cinematographer, Vetri Palanisamy took to his X and shared an update on the film's post production. He shared the update from the film’s Digital intermediate (DI).

He wrote: "Dear Suriya sir We're thrilled to have you join us in our DI suite. Your appreciation means a lot to us. Post Production in full swing.”

Helmed by director Siva, Kanguva also stars Disha Patani, Natarajan Subramaniam, Jagapathi Babu, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, and Kovai Sarala among others. The makers of the film have released a glimpse and a few posters from Kanguva so far. The second look of the film showed Suriya in two looks - one in his warrior look and one as a man in the current time, hinting that the story will traverse across multiple time periods. 

Mounted as a high-budget film, Kanguva also has Bobby Deol playing the character 'Udhiran' in the film. His character poster was released a few weeks ago.

In an earlier conversation with CE, Siva said, "The film is set 1500 years ago and uses elements from ancient Tamil culture as well as other cultures from all over India. Kanguva is a fictional story set in an imaginary world with strong historical references and facts." 

Kanguva has cinematography by Siva's frequent collaborator, Vetri Palanisamy, production design by Milan and editing by Nishad Yusuf. Supreme Sundar has choreographed the action sequences, while Narayana has co-written the script. The dialogues are by Madhan Karky.

Backed by Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green, Kanguva is aimed at an early 2024 release in 10 languages and 3D. The film marks the actor’s 42nd outing. Kanguva is co-produced by UV Creations and Studio Green.
