The grand audio launch of actor Suriya's upcoming film Kanguva with director Siva took place on Saturday at Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. At the event, Suriya opened up about working with Siva, what he thinks about Studio Green's KE Gnanavel Raja, and further went on to thank his fans for their love.
As soon as he came up on stage, he extended his gratitude to veteran actor Rajinikanth, who conveyed his wishes to Suriya for Kanguva through a video. He said, " I really thank Rajini sir for his kind words. If I'm able to sustain in the industry and in fans' hearts, it's because of my directors and producers. I bow down to them." He further went on to speak about Gnanavel Raja in high regard. "I can't thank Gnanavel enough. It's because of him that Karthi came into the industry. He doesn't care about the industry and sets his own rules. He has battled a lot of wars to make his film. Thank you for greenlighting this project."
Kanguva marks the Tamil acting debut of Bobby Deol. Speaking about the actor, Suriya said, "Bobby Deol is a brother from another mother. He made us comfortable and always made me feel at home. I hope we have a longer journey. Thank you for giving us so much love. Because of his addition, this film became a pan-Indian film. He sacrificed spending time with his family during many festivals to shoot his portions in the film." Suriya also had some words to say about his other co-actors. "Thank you Disha and Natty. Bose Venkat completely transformed himself in the film. It took me two seconds to realise it was him in the film. He's put such efforts into this. Yogi Babu is an intelligent actor. I really enjoyed working with Ravikumar sir and Kovai Sarala ma'am"
Suriya then went on to express his thanks to the film's technicians, namely DOP Vetri Palanisamy, music composer Devi Sri Prasad, dialogue-writer Madhan Karky and the late art director Milan Fernandez. "DOP Vetri sir has worked without any light. All the light came from the fire. If we are given any award, it should be given to Vetri sir. It's not easy to manage a whole team and Siva did it effortlessly. I found a great friend in Devi Sri Prasad. He called me and told me that he wanted to work on this. He literally manifested this. I have to thank Madhan Karky for creating dialogues. He changed the entire Tamil dictionary and has written dialogues for both the ancient portions as well as the modern ones. He is one of the key contributors to creating new words in Tamil."
"We are new to the world of Kanguva . Milan sir is our Lord Brahma, the creator. We can create an entire web series on him. His wife Maria has supported us fully after his demise," he added.
Speaking on his association with Siva, he said, "I feel like a senior in the industry, after being here for 27 years. A lot of good things need to be said via art. Cinema is not just art. In that way, Meiyazhagan is an important film. It's a medicine. Siva has sincerely put all his efforts into his. We jumped into this and almost 120 days flew by and we were happy every single day on the sets. Kanguva is a delicious feast that will be a treat for people. I feel I'm a better human because of being with Siva. He has told me that everything happens for a reason. He keeps thinking and saying that only good things will happen and everything comes together in a good way. "
He shared his love for his fans and said, "My fans, don't give another person the license or power to upset you. Siva told me this. A few years back, I would be angry seeing even a small tweet. But nothing is bigger than forgiveness and love. We will grow only with love." Lastly, on his career, he said, "I have had many ups and downs in this career. I am happy my career has gone up and down. Because of this, I'm able to rise up and give you good films. My fans' love is similar to my mother's. It is always consistent."
