The much-anticipated second look of Suriya's Kanguva, directed by Siva is out. The poster has Suriya in two looks - one in his warrior look and one as a man in the current time, hinting that the story will traverse across multiple time periods.
Sharing the poster, Studio Green wrote, "A Destiny Stronger Than Time. The past, present and future. All echo one name Kanguva."
A couple of days ago, Suriya penned a note after completing shooting for his portions in the biggie. He wrote on X, "My last shot done for Kanguva! An entire unit filled with positivity! It’s the finishing of one and the beginning of many..! Thank you dearest director Siva and team for all the memories! Kanguva is huge and special can’t wait for you all to see it on screen!"
It is to be noted that the film has been shooting for over a year now and was halted temporarily after Suriya was injured on the set. Previously, the makers had released a glimpse from the film in 2023 and a poster.
Mounted as a high-budget film, Kanguva features Disha Patani as the female lead, marking her debut in Tamil cinema. In an earlier conversation with CE, Siva said, "The film is set 1500 years ago and uses elements from ancient Tamil culture as well as other cultures from all over India. Kanguva is a fictional story set in an imaginary world with strong historical references and facts."
Kanguva will have cinematography by Siva's frequent collaborator, Vetri Palanisamy, production design by Milan and editing by Nishad Yusuf.
Backed by Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green and UV Creations, Kanguva is aimed at an early 2024 release, but there is no clear announcement from the team. The film marks Suriya's 42nd outing.
Supreme Sundar will choreograph the action sequences, while Narayana has co-written the script. The dialogues are by Madhan Karky.
