Ram Charan is working with Buchi Babu Sana in his next feature Peddi. Billed as a rural sports drama, the film is currently scheduled for March 27, 2026. On Friday, the team set off for a new shooting schedule.
The new schedule will take place in Sri Lanka, where the team plans to shoot a grand, picturesque song sequence with Ram Charan and the female lead Janhvi Kapoor. The shoot will take place amidst many locales of the island nation. The team also released a brief video where Ram Charan can be seen departing for Sri Lanka, and is being greeted by his team members. Academy Award-winning maestro AR Rahman is composing the music for the film.
A couple of weeks ago, the Peddi makers wrapped up another song schedule that was shot in Karnataka. Choreographed by Jani Master, that song focused primarily on Ram Charan.
Produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas and presented by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, Peddi is mounted on a grand scale. The film promises to present Ram Charan in a never-before-seen avatar with multiple distinct looks. Peddi also stars Jagapathi Babu, Shivarajkumar and Mirzapur fame Divyenndu. R Rathnavelu, who previously helmed cinematography for Devara, is onboard for Peddi. Other prominent technicians include National Award winning editor Navin Nooli and production designer Avinash Kolla. Upon it’s release, the film will clash at the box office against Nani starrer The Paradise.
Buchi Babu Sana made his filmmaking debut with the 2021 film Uppena. Starring Krithi Shetty and Vijay Sethupathi in prominent roles, Uppena emerged as a massive hit and was also the recipient of National Award for Best Telugu film that year.
