A few days ago, we had reported about the India OTT premiere date of Dhurandhar: The Revenge (2026), the second part of the Dhurandhar franchise which had a theatrical release in March. The first part Dhurandhar (2025) has already been streaming on Netflix since late January.
In a new and unusual update, an uncut version of Dhurandhar will begin streaming tonight at 12am simultaneously on both JioHotstar and Netflix. The version is titled as ‘Dhurandhar: Raw and Undekha.’ While the new version will not have a longer runtime, it is unexpected to be less censored in terms of dialogue and visual censorship. Besides Hindi, the film will also be available in Tamil and Telugu.
Meanwhile, Dhurandhar 2 is already available for streaming in International markets on Netflix, where it began streaming on May 14, full 3 weeks ahead of its official India OTT premiere.
The OTT rights for the Dhurandhar franchise have been a topic of major speculation and discourse in the past couple of weeks. Reportedly, the OTT rights for both Dhurandhar 1 and Dhurandhar 2 were initially sold to Netflix. After the mammoth box office success of Dhurandhar 1, the makers reopened the bidding for the sequel, which was won by JioHotstar.
However, considering the significance of a strong global reach, Netflix retained the international streaming rights for the sequel.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the spy-thriller franchise has emerged as the highest grossing Indian film series ever, surpassing the likes of Pushpa and Baahubali among others. Besides catapulting Ranveer Singh to superstardom, the film has also resurrected the careers of actors like Rakesh Bedi, Gaurav Gera and Arjun Rampal, besides giving a strong debut for its female lead Sara Arjun.
