Just a day after Jithu Madhavan said he is facing "no pressure" to portray Suriya as a cop in Suriya 47, the film's music composer Sushin Shyam has opened up about composing for it.
Sushin Shyam has composed for both of Jithu Madhavan's previous directorials, Romancham and Aavesham. He recently composed for Balan: The Boy, helmed by Chidambaram and written by Jithu Madhavan.
Speaking about Suriya 47 to The Cue Studio, Sushin said, "I am so excited for Suriya 47. Being a Suriya film itself is enough for the hype. As I just completed Balan, Suriya 47 will be a complete contrast album from me."
He then added that although he is excited, he has a few challenges. "Suriya 47's album will be in an enjoyable and commercial space. It will have the flavours of Aavesham, so it's a bit challenging for me not to repeat it. Another challenge is that it's my first film in Tamil, so I'm trying my best to deliver something that suits the Tamil audience's taste," he explained.
The project marks Jithu Madhavan's immediate follow-up to Aavesham and is backed by Suriya and Jyotika’s banner, Zhagaram Studios. The film also stars Nazriya Nazim in a key role, marking her first collaboration with Suriya and her first project with Jithu. Production began with a traditional pooja ceremony in December last year. Apart from Suriya and Nazriya, the cast includes Naslen, Anandraj and John Vijay.
Before Balan: The Boy, Sushin had the release of Mahesh Narayanan, Mammootty and Mohanlal's film, Patriot. Apart from Suriya 47, the composer is also working on Gracias El Clasico, which coincidentally also stars Nazriya Nazim alongside Tovino Thomas.
