Filmmaker Jithu Madhavan has offered a brief update on his upcoming film with Suriya, while maintaining that the team is not yet ready to reveal more about the project.

Speaking recently to Behindwoods about the much-anticipated collaboration, tentatively referred to as Suriya 47, Jithu said the makers are yet to decide how they want to introduce the film to audiences.

“We have not decided yet how to present the movie to the people. We've let out neither the first look nor the title. So it is better if I talk about it when the time is right,” the director said.

Jithu also addressed expectations surrounding Suriya’s role in the film, which is believed to feature the actor as a police officer. Dismissing any pressure around presenting the star in such a familiar space, the filmmaker said neither he nor his team feels burdened by the subject. “I take no pressure in portraying Suriya sir as a cop, and neither does my team. We are cool about the subject,” he added.

The project marks Jithu Madhavan's immediate follow-up to Aavesham and is backed by Suriya and Jyotika’s banner, Zhagaram Studios. The film also stars Nazriya Nazim in a key role, marking her first collaboration with Suriya and her first project with Jithu. Production began with a traditional pooja ceremony in December last year.

Apart from Suriya and Nazriya, the cast includes Naslen, Anandraj and John Vijay. The film’s music is composed by Sushin Shyam, who previously collaborated with Jithu on Aavesham.

Jithu Madhavan, who made his directorial debut with Romancham, recently served as a writer on Chidambaram's Balan: The Boy. He has previously worked as a writer on Painkili.

Suriya, on the other hand, is fresh off the release of Karuppu, which was a blockbuster commercial hit. He is gearing up for the release of Vishwanath & Sons, co-starring Mamitha Baiju. The Venky Atluri directorial is scheduled for an August 14 release.
