In a recent interview with the Untitled Podcast, actor Narain opened up about his role in Vijay's swansong, Jana Nayagan, and his experience working with the actor. The actor was recently seen in the Malayalam film, Eko.
Shedding light on his role, the Kaithi actor says that it's short yet vital. "I play a guest role in Jana Nayagan, but it is a very pivotal character. I share an important scene with Vijay sir and have a couple of other sequences in the film. He asked me to perform with intensity and delivered a brilliant performance himself."
On Vijay's stardom and nature, he added, "Although I have worked with superstars before, I was constantly aware that I was sharing the screen with one of India’s biggest stars today, especially considering his stature at this stage of his career. Despite that, his behaviour never reflected his stardom. He is extremely simple and humble, much like Rajini sir."
Narain also revealed that this was not his first collaboration with Vijay. "I had earlier worked with Vijay sir on an advertisement when I was assisting Rajiv Menon sir, but this is the first time I am performing alongside him in a film. The little time I spent with him on this set was truly valuable," he disclosed.
Helmed by H Vinoth, Jana Nayagan is said to revolve around Vijay’s role as a police officer, with Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol essaying pivotal roles. The ensemble cast further features Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Priyamani, Mamitha Baiju, and others. Interestingly, speculation is also rife about cameo appearances by directors Atlee, Nelson Dilipkumar, and Lokesh Kanagaraj, though nothing has been confirmed.
As Jana Nayagan prepares for its Pongal 2026 release, it is set for a clash at the box office with Sivakarthikeyan’s period drama Parasakthi, directed by Sudha Kongara, which hits screens on January 14, 2026.
