Ahead of the much-anticipated audio launch of Jana Nayagan which is set to take place in Malaysia, composer Anirudh has shared a few details about the grand event. With post-production work in full swing, Anirudh shared that the film's re-recording work is ongoing and expressed his excitement for the audio launch scheduled for December 27.
In an interview with Sun News, he said he is sad that the H Vinoth-directed film will mark Vijay's final film before his full-fledged entry to politics. "I thank everyone for the response to 'Thalapathy Kacheri' song. I'm confident that the audio launch will be extravagant. It's an open stadium and I will be performing a tribute for him with the songs I've made for his films as a medley. Since it's his last audio launch, we'll try to make it a fulfilling experience fitting for his send off," he explained, revealing that the tribute will have songs from Kaththi, Master, Leo, and Beast.
Apart from Anirudh, the audio launch is set to feature some of the biggest names in the industry including SPB Charan, Tippu, Anuradha Sriram, Andrea Jeremiah, Saindhavi, Yogi B and more. With audiences from across the world expected to flock to Bukit Jalil Stadium, the makers have reportedly arranged a historic 10-hour-long music festival to enthrall audiences.
Meanwhile, the film’s pre-release business has begun on a historic high. The Tamil Nadu theatrical rights have reportedly been snapped up for an impressive Rs 105 crore, setting a new benchmark in the state. The strong box-office performance of Vijay’s recent films and the heightened curiosity around his farewell project have positioned Jana Nayagan as a commercially promising venture well before release.
Jana Nayagan is said to revolve around Vijay’s role as a police officer, with Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol essaying pivotal roles. The ensemble cast further features Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain, Priyamani,Mamitha Baiju, and others. Interestingly, speculation is also rife about cameo appearances by directors Atlee, Nelson Dilipkumar, and Lokesh Kanagaraj, though nothing has been confirmed.
As Jana Nayagan prepares for its Pongal 2026 release, it is set for a clash at the box office with Sivakarthikeyan’s period drama Parasakthi, directed by Sudha Kongara, which hits screens on January 14, 2026.
