

Putting an end to days of speculation, the makers of Jana Nayagan have officially clarified that Vijay has completed dubbing for the film and that all financial commitments to the star were settled as agreed. As per a report on The Times of India, the production house dismissed rumours suggesting that Vijay’s dubbing was delayed due to pending remuneration, calling the claims baseless.
With the clarification out, the post-production work on Jana Nayagan is now in full swing under director H Vinoth’s supervision. The film is scheduled to hit theatres worldwide on January 9, 2026, marking Vijay’s final appearance as an actor, a fact that has added an emotional weight to the already massive anticipation surrounding the project.
Meanwhile, the film’s pre-release business has begun on a historic high. The Tamil Nadu theatrical rights have reportedly been snapped up for an impressive Rs 105 crore, setting a new benchmark in the state. The strong box-office performance of Vijay’s recent films and the heightened curiosity around his farewell project have positioned Jana Nayagan as a commercially promising venture well before release.
The makers are also gearing up for an extravagant audio launch in Malaysia on December 27. Anirudh Ravichander, composing for Vijay for the fifth time, leads the musical promotions
Jana Nayagan is said to revolve around Vijay’s role as a police officer, with Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol essaying pivotal roles. The ensemble cast further features Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain, Priyamani,Mamitha Baiju, and others. Interestingly, speculation is also rife about cameo appearances by directors Atlee, Nelson Dilipkumar, and Lokesh Kanagaraj, though nothing has been confirmed.
As Jana Nayagan prepares for its Pongal 2026 release, it is set for a clash at the box office with Sivakarthikeyan’s period drama Parasakthi, directed by Sudha Kongara, which hits screens on January 14, 2026.
