Actor Samantha, who recently made her acting comeback with Maa Inti Bangaram helmed by BV Nandini Reddy, made headlines for a different reason on Saturday. At the success meet that was held on the day, Samantha was seen with what looked like a baby bump, initiating rumours regarding her pregnancy.
While the news was not officially announced by Samantha herself, director Nandini Reddy has confirmed to CE that the actor, who is married to filmmaker Raj Nidimoru, is indeed pregnant. The two tied the knot on December 1 last year.
Speaking to CE, Nandini said, "Her pregnancy comes at a beautiful time, as our film, Maa Inti Bangaram has become a success." Further, on her appearance at the success meet, which led to the speculations, she added that Samantha made a conscious choice at the event.
Just two days since its release, Maa Inti Bangaram has already earned Rs 25 crore worldwide. The 39-year-old actor also served as a producer on the film under the Tralala Moving Pictures banner, with Raj Nidimoru and Himank Duvvuru serving as co-producers.
In Maa Inti Bangaram, Samantha can be seen as Swarna, a newly married woman trying to blend into her husband’s conservative rural household while concealing a dangerous past as an assassin. When figures from her former life return, she is forced to confront who she once was to protect the family around her.
On the personal front, Samantha and Raj reportedly first met when she starred in The Family Man season 2 in 2021. Rumours of the two dating came up after she reunited with the Raj and DK duo for Citadel: Honey Bunny. The two had an intimate wedding ceremony at the Linga Bhairava temple at the Isha Foundation in Coimbatore.
