At the trailer launch of Nithiin starrer Thammudu on Wednesday, the film’s producer Dil Raju revealed that he prohibited the general practice of buying fake views for trailers and songs.
He candidly said, “I have been wanting to say this for a long time. I told my office and PR team strictly to only show organic views for our trailer. I am advising on this to other makers too; don’t unnecessarily spend millions for those fake views. Because organic growth shows how much our film reaches audiences when we buy such fake numbers, it looks huge, but we are not able to gauge how much the film is reaching audiences. I am starting this difficult practice with this film.”
Dil Raju also further revealed that the film’s lead, Nithiin, and the director, Venu Sriram, did not take remuneration for Thammudu. “In my 22 years of a production career, this happened for the first time. Both of them said they will take remuneration only after the film becomes a hit. I thank my hero and my director for supporting a producer,” he stated.
Thammudu’s trailer shows Nithiin as a trained archer who returns to his conflict-ridden village called Ambaragodugu. Saurabh Sachdeva is introduced as the main villain who unleashes a large-scale massacre in the village, which Nithiin’s character aims to prevent.
Laya, returning to Telugu cinema after several years, plays the role of Nithiin’s elder sister. Sapthami Gowda, Varsha Bollamma, Swasika, Hari Teja, Srikanth Iyyengar, and Temper Vamshi appear in supporting roles.
Produced by Dil Raju and Shirish under Sri Venkateswara Creations, Thammudu marks another collaboration between Nithiin and the banner. The music is composed by Ajaneesh Loknath, with cinematography by KV Guhan and editing by Prawin Pudi. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on July 4.
