The new single of Pawan Kalyan’s They Call Him OG was unveiled on Wednesday morning, on the occasion of Vinayaka Chavithi. The single titled ‘Suvvi Suvvi’ also introduces the romance arc of the film, featuring Pawan Kalyan and Priyanka Mohan.
Composed by Thaman S, ‘Suvvi Suvvi’ instantly draws your attention with its old-school melody, use of rousing strings and orchestral section, blending with a unique-sounding moog gated synths. Sruthi Ranjani is the playback singer, while lyrics are by Kalyan Chakravarthy.
The makers have impressively also shot an elaborate music video, featuring the lead musicians and orchestra team, including notable flutist Naveen Kumar. In a contrast to the 'Firestorm' number, Suvvi Suvvi captures the tender side of its protagonist that that he saves for his beloved Kanmani (Priyanka Mohan). “This is a deeply rooted emotional song that drives the story and stands as its very soul,” the makers captioned the song release post. This is also the first time where Pawan Kalyan and Priyanka will be seen sharing screen.
OG is produced by DVV Danayya and Kalyan Dasari under DVV Entertainment. Directed by Sujeeth, the stylish actioner is comfortably on way for a theatrical release on September 25 as planned. A few days ago, the makers quashed the rumours of any shoot pending and a possible delay in release. The USA bookings for the film will commence on Friday, August 29.
While Emraan Hashmi appears as the main antagonist, Omi Bhau, making his Telugu cinema debut, the extended cast includes Arjun Das, Prakash Raj, Sriya Reddy, Shaam, and Harish Uthaman. The film boasts of stalwarts like Ravi K Chandra and Manoj Paramhansa (cinematography) and Navin Nooli (editing) in the technical team.
