Karthi, who was last seen in Nalan Kumarasamy's Vaa Vaathiyaar, is currently busy with multiple projects in various stages of production. While the actor is awaiting the release of PS Mithran's Sardar 2 and is working on Marshal, helmed by director Tamizh of Taanakaran fame, he had recently joined hands with Mad director Kalyan Shankar for Karthi 30. Amidst these, it has now come to light that Karthi will soon be collaborating with director Ganesh K Babu (Dada, Karathey Babu) for his 31st film.
According to sources, Karthi heard a narration from the director which impressed the actor, after which he had asked him to develop the script. The film is not expected to go on floors soon with Karthi planning to complete all his earlier commitments before coming to this project.
Ganesh K Babu, who received massive fame with the success of Kavin's Dada, went on to make Karathey Babu with Ravi Mohan. The politican actioner wrapped filming earlier this year and is yet to lock a release date. Shakthi Vasudevan of Ninaithale Inikkum fame portrays the antagonist by the name Boxer Selavaraj while KS Ravikumar, Nasser, and Kaali Venkat will be seen in key roles.
Similarly, a release date for Karthi's long-awaited Sardar 2 has not yet been confimed. The film, which will serve both a sequel and a prequel to the first film, released in 2022, also stars SJ Suryah, Ashika Ranganath, Yogi Babu, and Rajisha Vijayan in pivotal roles. On the other hand, Marshal is a period film set in 1965 has Kalyani Priyadarshan as the lead, and boasts an extensive supporting cast, including Sathyaraj, Prabhu, Lal, John Kokken, and Eswari Rao. Kalyan Shankar's Karthi 30 stars Meenakshi Chaudhary as the female lead.
