It is well known that Pradeep Ranganathan's association with Ravi Mohan goes way back to 2019 when the actor-filmmaker made his directorial debut with Comali starring Ravi in the lead. Pradeep has since seen a meteoric rise in his career pulling off three consecutive Rs 100 crore outings in theatres. As he now gears up for the next stage in his career as a producer, Ravi has placed a special request to his director.
Speaking at the Ananda Vikatan awards ceremony, Ravi Mohan requested Pradeep to act in his next directorial. Replying to this, Pradeep said that he will complete all his upcoming commitments and then sign his movie. Adding to his previous question, Ravi then probed which director's film he'd choose given options between Vetri Maaran, Mani Ratnam, Ashwath Marimuthu and himself. Without a second thought, Pradeep stated that he would choose Ravi and give him the dates for his film first. The candid conversation is an extension of their almost-decade-long friendship. If Pradeep chooses Ravi's film soon, it will mark a full-circle moment for the duo.
Last seen in Love Insurance Kompany (LIK), Pradeep will be producing a woman-centric film starring Mamitha Baiju and Ashwath Marimuthu in key roles for his next. Recently, Swasika confirmed the news in an interview, revealing that she too has joined the team in a key role. A director for the project has not been confirmed yet.
On the other hand, Ravi Mohan is currently busy shooting for his directorial debut, An Ordinary Man with Yogi Babu in the lead. For the unversed, he began his own production house Ravi Mohan Studios last year. He recently joined the sets of Benz, which is a part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe. He will be seen sharing the screen with Raghava Lawrence and Nivin Pauly in the Bakkiyaraj Kannan directorial.
He also has Karathey Babu, helmed by Dada-fame Ganesh K Babu which is set for a release in August. The actor recently joined hands with debut director GND Shyam Kumar for his next. He also has multiple other projects in the pipeline, including the long-delayed Genie and Karthik Yogi's film, previously titled Bro Code.
