Back in February, Vikram revealed that he has four films in his lineup, announcements of which will be made in due time. Now speculations are rife that the actor is reuniting with his Iru Mugan director, Anand Shankar, for one of his four upcoming films. Reportedly, Harris Jayaraj will compose music for the film. If reports are to be believed, this upcoming collaboration is said to go on floors this May, with a theatrical release planned for the end of the year. However, this is yet to be confirmed by the makers.
Anand Shankar made his directorial debut with Arima Nambi and further helmed films like NOTA and Enemy. Also starring Nayanthara and Nithya Menen, Iru Mugan opened to positive reviews and commercial success. The film also had music by Harris Jayaraj.
Back in February, Vikram took to social media and wrote, "Sometimes silence is preparation. I spent this year waiting for stories that moved me. Grateful to now begin four films, each very different, with directors I deeply admire. I can’t wait to share these journeys with you."
One of these four projects is expected to be the actor's 63rd film, directed by first-timer Bodi Rajkumar and produced by Arun Viswa. An announcement regarding Chiyaan 63 came in 2024, and director Madonne Ashwin was attached to the project, but he has been replaced with Bodi Rajkumar.
The actor is also expected to come back for a sequel to Veera Dheera Sooran, directed by SU Arun Kumar, who helmed the first part. An official confirmation about the development of the second part is still pending. At the same time, he is teaming up with '96 and Meiyazhagan director C Premkumar for his 64th film. We will have to wait for details about the actor's other projects.
