Sivakarthikeyan, who is currently enjoying the success of AR Murugadoss’ Madharaasi, is preparing for his next release, the period drama Parasakthi. For this project, directed by Sudha Kongara, the actor has adopted a leaner frame to convincingly portray a character set in the 1960s.
Explaining the physical transformation, Sivakarthikeyan shared, as per a report on DT Next, that his roles in Amaran and Madharaasi demanded a bulkier and more muscular look. “Amaran and Madharaasi required me to sport a bulkier frame, and I hit the gym and toned my body for those particular characters. But I really don’t think I should be sharing with you my diet details on how I shed those muscles,” he remarked with a laugh.
The actor eventually offered insight into his routine. “Okay, to be honest, I only eat vegetables, fruits, and soups, which have in a way become my staple food of late. You know that I have a sweet tooth. But I have been in total control of what I eat. Moreover, Parasakthi is a period film that takes place in the 60s. This is the weight that I am supposed to be for playing that role, and I wear chest-high pants in that film,” he explained.
Looking back at Madharaasi, Sivakarthikeyan reflected on his collaboration with AR Murugadoss. He noted that the film was always envisioned in the director’s distinctive style and that the team resisted the temptation to modify it to suit his star persona. He also admitted that he had never attempted action sequences of such intensity before and had to adapt himself to meet the film’s demanding tone.
Madharaasi also stars Rukmini Vasanth, Vidyut Jammwal, Biju Menon and Vikranth in prominent roles. Meanwhile, Parasakthi, slated for a Pongal 2026 release, features Ravi Mohan as the antagonist, with Sreeleela and Atharvaa Murali joining Sivakarthikeyan in pivotal roles.
