Lokesh Kanagaraj, who is actively promoting his sixth directorial, Coolie, recently revealed in an interview that he was the first choice to play the antagonist in Sivakarthikeyan’s Parasakthi.

In an interview with Valaipechu Bismi, the filmmaker said, “I really liked the story of Parasakthi. I wanted to do the film, and even Sivakarthikeyan recommended I take up the role. But I couldn’t risk it with the timeline for Coolie. Now, as Coolie is gearing up for release, they’re actively shooting for the film. It would have been impossible for me to have managed both.”

Lokesh further said that Arun Matheswaran approached him for his directorial after this, and he decided to take it up. Earlier, in June, reports suggested that Lokesh was undergoing intensive training in martial arts for his upcoming film with the Captain Miller director. Reports indicate that Lokesh will wrap Arun's film before starting production on his next directorial venture, Kaithi 2, starring Karthi. Following Kaithi 2, Lokesh is set to collaborate with Aamir Khan on a superhero film.
