Sivakarthikeyan’s most recent action thriller, Madharaasi, directed by AR Murugadoss, continues to pull crowds into theatres after its release on September 5.

According to Sacnilk.com, the film collected an estimated Rs 11.75 crore net on its first Saturday across all languages. With this, Madharaasi has taken its domestic total to Rs 25.40 crore in just two days.

The film opened on Friday with Rs 13.65 crore net, out of which Tamil contributed the bulk at Rs 12 crore. The Telugu version earned Rs 1.55 crore, while the Hindi version added around Rs 0.1 crore. Although Saturday saw a slight dip from opening day numbers, the collections remained steady enough to give the film a strong start to its box office journey.

Madharaasi has been performing significantly better in Tamil compared to its other versions, with occupancies on day two reflecting the same trend. The dip on Saturday is considered normal after a strong debut, and trade trackers suggest the film’s Sunday performance will be crucial in determining its first weekend total.

An excerpt from CE's review of the film reads, "Cars go up in the air and in flames, stunt sequences defy physics, one voice calling out for help at the right time brings back the battered hero to life… Basically, we are back to the times when action films were gratuitous spectacles."

Backed by Sri Lakshmi Movies, the film stars Sivakarthikeyan, Rukmini Vasanth, Vidyut Jammwal, Biju Menon, Vikranth and Shabeer Kallarakkal. The story follows a man suffering from Fregoli delusion who becomes entangled in a dangerous mission to stop the smuggling of illegal arms into Tamil Nadu.

The technical crew of the film includes Anirudh as the music composer, Sudeep Elamon as the cinematographer, and Sreekar Prasad as the editor.
