Acclaimed director Shankar has given a shoutout for AR Murugadoss recent actioner Madharaasi, starring Sivakarthikeyan and Vidyut Jammwal in lead roles. Taking to his X handle, the filmmaker called the film an "engaging commercial entertainer" that has many "enjoyable theatrical moments."

"Madharaasi - An engaging commercial entertainer with many enjoyable theatrical moments. AR Murugadoss connected the elements and emotions brilliantly. Blending the love track and crime track was done well. Siva Kartikeyan's characterisation was interesting and different which he pulled off wonderfully- also stuns as an action hero! Anirudh's BGM acts as a catalyst to the blast. Vidyut Jammwal - Wow! Audience can’t get enough of his swagger. Congratulations to the whole team for delivering," he wrote in his brief post.
