Lyricist Vivek, who penned the special tribute song to Vijay in the audio launch announcement of the actor's final film Jana Nayagan, wrote an emotional note to Anirudh for making him a part of this tribute.
Vivek wrote on his X handle, "Thank you for making me a part of your beauty of a tune. The moment i heard it felt, its going to hit hard. The pouring msgs and appreciations are all because of you. Thank you all for the massive response. Love you Thalapathy." (sic)
The lyricist has written all the songs in Vijay's Mersal, Sarkar, Bigil, and Varisu, while also penning some of the songs in the actor's Beast and The Greatest of All Time (GOAT).
Helmed by H Vinoth, Jana Nayagan also stars Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Priyamani, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mamitha Baiju, and Narain. The film reunites Vijay with Prakash Raj after Varisu, Pooja after Beast, and Gautham Vasudev Menon after Leo.
On the technical side, the film has music by Anirudh, cinematography by Sathyan Sooryan, editing by Pradeep E Ragav, action choreography by Anl Arasu, and art direction by Selva Kumar.
Jana Nayagan is produced by Venkat K Narayana and co-produced by Lohith N K and Jagadish Palanisamy. The film will be released in theatres on January 9, 2026, for the Pongal festival season.
