Ravi Mohan breaks silence, issues strong statement in response to Aarti Ravi's allegations

Actor Ravi Mohan has issued a detailed and emotionally charged press statement countering allegations made by his estranged wife Aarti Ravi, days after her open letter accused him of abandonment and irresponsibility amid ongoing divorce proceedings.

Earlier this week, Aarti Ravi took to her social media platforms to speak publicly for the first time since her separation from the actor, stating that she has faced “cruel whispers, accusations and allegations” in silence for over a year for the sake of her children. Her statement came in the wake of viral photos of Ravi Mohan attending a wedding with singer and spiritual therapist Kenishaa Francis, which triggered a fresh wave of public speculation.

In her note, Aarti expressed deep emotional hurt, accusing Ravi of “walking away from the responsibilities he once promised to honour”. She alleged that she has not received monetary or emotional support from the actor and is now facing an eviction notice from the bank at his instructions. Aarti, who has been married to Ravi for 18 years, asserted, “A father is not just a title. It is a responsibility,” urging the public and the media not to refer to her as an ex-wife until the legal process is complete.

Responding to these claims, Ravi Mohan released a lengthy and passionate statement, claiming that he has been subjected to years of “physical, mental, emotional, and financial abuse” during the marriage. “My silence was not weakness—it was survival,” he wrote, adding that he had reached a point where his “life had become unliveable”.

While reaffirming his trust in the legal process, Ravi categorically denied all allegations of abandonment and financial neglect. “I have only decided to leave my ex-wife in marriage, not my kids. My children are my eternal pride and happiness,” he wrote. He went on to state that he has been “deliberately kept away” from his children since the separation and learnt of their recent car accident only through a third party when his signature was needed for an insurance claim.

The actor also accused Aarti and her family of exploiting him financially, stating that he was manipulated into signing as surety for a multi-crore loan taken by his mother-in-law. “Despite walking away peacefully, I continued to pay for all liabilities until I could no longer be sure if the money was going towards my children’s well-being,” Ravi said, adding that he has been left financially drained.

Ravi further expressed dismay over the public backlash towards his recent appearance with Kenishaa Francis, clarifying that she was a supportive companion during one of the darkest periods of his life. “She is a spiritual therapist and a good singer. She chose to be by my side not for fame or attention but out of empathy,” he said, firmly requesting that there be no disrespect towards her or her profession.

While Aarti Ravi called her public post a step taken “not to fight, but to protect”, Ravi concluded his statement by saying that this was an attempt to “reclaim his voice” after 16 years of enduring silent trauma. He said this would be his final public comment on the matter, emphasising his faith in the legal system to deliver justice and expressing gratitude to fans and media who chose to withhold judgement.

“Men too are victims of abuse and coercion,” Ravi wrote, closing his statement on a note of resilience. “I am divinely happy with the choices I’ve made. I have never in my life been at this level of peace and happiness.”
