Earlier, we reported about Jayam Ravi making a public announcement about his decision to part ways with his wife Aarti Ravi and about Aarti expressing her disappointment about the announcement without her consent. There has since been online discourse supporting Jayam Ravi. And Aarti has now made it clear that her response concerned the announcement of her divorce, not the divorce as such.
Taking to her Instagram handle, she wrote, "In light of the ongoing public commentary surrounding my personal life, I find it important to emphasise that my silence is not a sign of weakness or guilt. I've chosen to stay dignified and not respond to those trying to portray me in bad light to conceal the truth, but I trust the legal system to bring justice."
She went on to add, "To be clear, my previous statement referred to the public announcement that was claimed to have been issued through mutual consent. I maintain that this came as a shock and was not a reference to the unilateral divorce that is underway. It's unfortunate that my words were misinterpreted. I still hope for a private conversation on this matter which till date has been denied."
"I deeply respect the sanctity of marriage and won't engage in public discussions that hurt anyone's reputation. My focus is on our family's well-being, and I trust in God's grace for guidance," she concluded.
Jayam Ravi and Aarti, the daughter of noted television producer Sujatha Vijayakumar, tied the knot in 2009, and have two children Aarav and Ayaan. Aarav starred in the film Tik Tik Tik as Jayam Ravi's on-screen son.
On the work front, Jayam Ravi, last seen in Siren written and directed by Antony Bhagyaraj, is awaiting the release of Brother, directed by M Rajesh. He also has Genie and Kadhalika Neramillai in the pipeline.
