Actor Rajinikanth has caught Karthik Subbaraj's latest release Retro, starring Suriya in the lead and was all in praise of the film. In a post on X, the director who made Petta with Rajinikanth, couldn't contain his happiness as he shared that "he loved it".
He also shared his exact words: "What an effort by whole team.... Suriya performance Super.... Last 40 minutes of the film Superb... Laughter touch is Fantastic....God bless." The words made him ecstatic as he responded to it on the post by saying, "I am flying now.....Love you Thalaivaaa." He also shared a poster that said 'Johnny praises Paari'.
Earlier the Jigarthanda director took to his social media handles to express his joy over the overwhelming response to Retro. He shared that he was deeply moved by the outpouring of love from fans and the public, calling it a sign of promising new beginnings. The film, which was released on May 1, opened to positive as well as mixed reviews from audiences and earned over Rs 46 crore worldwide in the first two days.
Produced by Suriya-Jyotika's 2D Entertainment and Karthik Subbaraj's Stone Bench Films, Retro also stars Pooja Hegde as the female lead along with Jayaram, Joju George, Nassar, Prakash Raj, Sujith Shankar, Karunakaran, Tamizh, Prem Kumar, Ramachandran Durairaj, Sandeep Raj, Murugavel, and Remya Suresh, among others.
With Santhosh Narayanan as the music composer, the technical crew of the film crew comprises cinematographer Shreyaas Krishna, editor Shafique Mohamed, art director Jackson, action choreographer Kecha Khamphakdee, and costume designer Praveen Raja.
