Actor Krishna surrendered himself to the police officials in Chennai after being incommunicado for a while. The police were on a wide search for the actor, following which he was detained for questioning. Reportedly, the actor underwent drilling by the officials for over 18 hours as authorities continue to tighten the net around the suspected narcotics ring involving members of the Tamil film industry.

In a statement reportedly given during interrogation, Krishna said, "Actor Srikanth and I are good friends. We attend events like parties together. But at the same time, the reports that I have used drugs are not true. I cannot consume drugs." He further explained that his health conditions rule out any possibility of drug use. "Because I have gastritis. And I also have heart problems. How can I use drugs when I am like this? I have no connection with the drug gang," he said.

Krishna’s name surfaced during the police interrogation of Pradeep, who was arrested for allegedly supplying drugs to former AIADMK IT wing executive Prasad. Based on Pradeep’s statement, actor Srikanth was arrested, and Krishna was identified as another suspected user. The police then launched a manhunt, deploying four special teams to Kerala, where Krishna was believed to be hiding.

Though he initially went off the radar, Krishna's unexpected appearance at the police station led to a marathon interrogation session. While no conclusive evidence has been made public yet, reports suggest that a medical examination has so far not confirmed any drug consumption on his part.

As investigations continue, the case continues to ripple through the Tamil film fraternity, with more names potentially under the scanner.
