Greater Chennai Police has detained actor Krishna shortly after they started looking into the case related to drug acquisition and consumption, involving actor Srikanth. According to sources close to the development, Krishna appeared in front of the police in Nungambakkam for questioning once the Triplicane Deputy commissioner of Police created a special team to detain the actor. Cyber crime officials aided the police in tracing the actor's location.
Krishna made his debut as a child actor in Mani Ratnam's 1990 film Anjali, starring Raghuvaran and Revathy. The actor recently appeared in the JioHotstar (formerly Disney+ Hotstar) series Parachute. Ironically, the series stars Krishna as a cop looking into a missing child case.
Recently, law enforcement arrested Srikanth after the revelation about his acquisition of drug at Rs 12,000 per gram from a Salem native, identified as Pradeep Kumar, who once worked for and got expelled from the AIADMK’s IT unit. Krishna's detention is associated with the probe into Prasad's alleged criminal organisation. According to the said sources, law enforcement is likely to take Krishna through a medical examination, including a blood test, for traces of drugs.
