
Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam have joined hands 38 years after Nayakan for Thug Life. The film marks the third collaboration between Kamal Haasan and AR Rahman, after Indian and Thenali.
The extended ensemble cast of Thug Life comprises Silambarasan, Abhirami, Ashok Selvan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Nassar, Joju George, Mahesh Manjrekar, Tanikella Bharani, Vadivukkarasi, Chinni Jayanth, Vaiyapuri, Bagavathi Perumal, Baburaj, Ali Fazal, Rohit Saraf, Arjun Chidambaram, Chetan, and Rajashri Deshpande.
The technical crew of Thug Life also features cinematographer Ravi K Chandran, editor Sreekar Prasad and action directors Anbariv. The film is a co-production between Udhayanidhi's Red Giant Movies, Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Film International, and Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies.
The film opened in theatres worldwide on June 5 to mixed reviews.

Thug Life saw a collection of just over Rs 1 crore after the fifth day of its release. Week one saw Rs 44 crore revenue in total and by the second week, Thug Life's earnings had dropped to less than Rs 1 crore. On the second weekend, the film had collected just Rs 1.8 crore.
