Colin Farrell is joining hands with AGBO, the home banner of the Russo Brothers, for an action-thriller titled Ordained. The film is based on publisher Bad Idea's upcoming comic book.

The project is attracting multiple studios and streamers, with John Wick writer Derek Kolstad set to pen the script and produce alongside Dinesh Shamdasani and Benjamin Simpson of Bad Idea.

In Ordained, Colin Farrell will star as Father Roy Craig, a priest who gives last rites to a mob boss who miraculously survives, only to confess his crimes. Now, Father Roy's a target for the mob, corrupt cops, and hitmen. But what they don't know is that Father Roy has a dark past that makes him a more formidable opponent than they bargained for.

Joe and Anthony Russo, who are currently working on Avengers: Doomsday, will produce under their AGBO banner. Joining them under the same production house are Angela Russo-Otstot and Michael Disco. Additionally, under his home banner, Chapel Place, Farrell and his sister Claudine Farrell will also produce.

The comic book, meanwhile, is scheduled for release on December 10. Robert Venditti is the writer of the book, which will feature illustrations by Trevor Hairsine and colour work by Dave Stewart.

Recently seen in Netflix's Ballad of a Small Player, Farrell also had the release of A Big Bold Beautiful Journey in theatres. He is fresh off an Emmy nomination for The Penguin, HBO's series in which he played the eponymous villain. He is expected to reprise his antagonist character in the upcoming Batman sequel helmed by Matt Reeves. In the pipeline, he also has the second season of the Apple TV+ series Sugar, which is scheduled for release next year.

With Avengers: Doomsday in post-production, AGBO and the Russo Brothers are busy, as additional photography for the film is scheduled to take place in spring. Following this, the team will move on to film Avengers: Secret Wars in summer. Meanwhile, AGBO is also producing Lionsgate's John Rambo movie and Mercenary, headlined by Omar Sy.
