Months after it was announced that Adam Driver, Jeremy Strong and Anne Hathaway will be headlining a project titled Paper Tiger, the makers of the film revealed that Scarlett Johansson and Miles Teller will be filling in their position as the two actors had to drop out to due to other commitments.
Scarlett Johansson and Miles Teller will be joined by Adam Driver in the film which will be directed by James Gray, who is known for films such as We Own The Night, Ad Astra, and Little Odessa. Filming is scheduled to begin next month in New Jersey. Johansson and Driver are joining hands once again after their hit 2019 film Marriage Story.
The narrative of Paper Tiger centers on two brothers chasing the American Dream, only to find themselves caught in a seemingly perfect scheme that spirals into a nightmare. As they grapple with the escalating threats of corruption and violence, they become targets of the Russian “Mafiya,” leading to brutal consequences for their family. Amidst the chaos, their once-unbreakable bond begins to weaken, and the idea of betrayal—previously unimaginable—starts to loom dangerously close.
Paper Tiger is backed by Rodrigo Teixeira and Anthony Katagas under their RT Features banner and AK Productions respectively. Raffaella Leone, Gary Farkas, Marco Perego, Carlo Salem, and Andrea Bucko also produce. Lee Broda, Jeff Rice, Riccardo Maddalosso and Emily Salveson are the executive producers for the film. A release date is yet to be announced by the makers.
Best known for Marriage Story, Jojo Rabbit, Her, Lost in Translation, The Avengers and Captain America franchises, among others, Johansson is also working on Wes Anderson’s The Phoenician Scheme and is also set to make her directorial debut with Eleanor the Great. She will next be seen in Jurassic World Rebirth.
Teller has also a similar line of hit film credits which include Top Gun: Maverick, Whiplash, and The Spectacular Now. He was last seen in The Gorge for Apple TV+. Up next, he is awaiting the release of Michael Jackson biopic Michael and Eternity. He also has Greg Kwedar’s Possum Song and Paul Downs Colaizzo’s Winter Games in the pipeline.
