Jurassic World Rebirth Trailer: Scarlett Johansson has a dinosaur-sized problem to deal with

Universal Pictures dropped the first official trailer for Jurassic World Rebirth, starring Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey. The film is directed by Gareth Edwards, known for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016), from a screenplay by Jurassic Park (1993) writer David Koepp, based on the characters originally created by Michael Crichton. The trailer hints at a film where Johansson's character leads a team of skilled professionals on a covert mission to get traces of dinosaur DNA.

The official logline reads, "Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures across land, sea and air within that tropical biosphere hold, in their DNA, the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind."

The trailer starts with a nod to the original Jurrasic Park, with dinosaurs appearing right in front of Bailey and Johansson's characters, eliciting a slack-jawed reaction from them. Soon, we see visuals of the characters dealing with the "worst of the worst" dinosaurs in the park in many different locations, including water.

The cast also includes Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Rupert Friend, Luna Blaise, David Iacono, Audrina Miranda, Philippine Velge, Bechir Sylvain, and Ed Skrein.

Longtime franchise producers Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley are part of the project, as is Steven Spielberg as an executive producer. Denis L Stewart and Jim Spencer also serve as executive producers.

Jurassic World Rebirth is slated for a July 02, 2025, release.
