Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra director Dominic Arun recent met actor Allu Arjun. Sharing a picture featuring him with the Pushpa and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo star, Dominic wrote, "A big fanboy moment. Had the wonderful opportunity to meet “THE” Allu Arjun and hear his thoughts on Lokah. His appreciation for the film and his encouragement for the chapters ahead genuinely meant a lot. Dominic Arun made his directorial debut with 2017's Tharangam, starring Tovino Thomas and Balu Varghese in the lead roles. Produced by Dhanush in his first Malayalam venture, the film earned plenty of critical appreciation at the time of its release in 2017, although it did not perform as well as it could have at the box office. However, Dominic struck gold at the box office with Lokah, starring Kalyani Priyadarshan as an immortal vampire named Kalliyankattu Neeli.
Lokah's cast also includes Naslen, Sandy Master, Chandu Salimkumar, Tovino, and Dulquer Salmaan, among others. The film earned over 300 crore from theatres worldwide and is the current industry hit in Malayalam in terms of global box office collection. In terms of collection at the Kerala box office alone, Vaazha 2: Biopic of a Billion Bros is the industry hit.
On the other hand, Allu Arjun has not had a release since Pushpa 2: The Rule, which hit theatres in 2024 December. The actor is working on Raaka with director Atlee. His upcoming projects include a yet-to-be-titled film with director Lokesh Kanagaraj.
The Pushpa and Happy star meeting Dominic Arun and expressing his admiration for his film signifies Malayalam cinema's popularity beyond the borders of the state. It is also worth noting that Allu Arjun is a massive star in Kerala as well.
