The much-talked-about wedding of Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, fondly referred to by fans as VIROSH, was solemnised on Thursday morning at 10:10 am in a traditional Telugu ceremony.
As per custom, Vijay performed the ritual of placing jaggery and cumin (jeelakarra bellam) on Rashmika’s head before tying the mangalsutra, marking the sacred moment of their union. The ceremony was an intimate affair with around 200 guests in attendance, most of them close family members from both sides.
From the film fraternity, a few close friends of the couple were present, including director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, filmmaker Tharun Bhascker, and actresses Eesha Rebba, Ashika Ranganath, and Kalyani Priyadarshan. Director Shiva Nirvana, who worked with Vijay in The Family Star, also attended the ceremony to bless the newlyweds.
With the Telugu rituals completed in the morning, preparations are underway for the Kodava-style wedding ceremony in the evening at 4:30 pm, following Rashmika’s family traditions.
According to sources, after completing the wedding ceremonies, the couple will return to Hyderabad. From there, they are scheduled to travel to Thummannapet in the Nagarkurnool district (formerly Mahbubnagar) of Telangana — the native village of Vijay Deverakonda’s father. The families have planned to conduct a Satyanarayana Swamy Vratham at their ancestral place as part of post-wedding rituals.
The couple is expected to visit Tummannapet on March 2 to perform the vratham and seek blessings. A special lunch is also being arranged for the villagers as part of the celebrations.
After completing the religious ceremony, Vijay and Rashmika will return to Hyderabad to host a grand reception on March 4. The reception is expected to be attended by members of the film industry, close friends, and prominent personalities from political and business circles.
