Kishkindhapuri Movie Review: Many surprises await in this cinematically curious thriller

Directed by Koushik Pegallapati of Chaavu Kaburu Challaga fame, Kishkindhapuri blends horror and comedy around an unusual premise. The story follows a group of ghost tour guides whose routine gig takes a sinister turn when an ancient spirit awakens from an abandoned radio station.

Kishkindhapuri’s supporting cast features Sandy Master, Tanikella Bharani, Srikanth Iyenger, Hyper Aadi, Makrand Deshpande, and Sudarshan. Backed by producer Sahu Garapati under Shine Screens, the film also boasts music by Chaitan Bharadwaj.

On the technical side, Kishkindhapuri has cinematography by Chinmay Salaskar, editing by Niranjan Devaramane, and production design by Manisha Dutt. The screenplay credits are shared by Darahas Palakollu and K Bala Ganesh, with art direction from D Siva Kamesh and creative inputs from G Kanishka.

With its second-day bump, Kishkindhapuri will be hoping to sustain momentum through the weekend. The real test, however, lies in how it fares once the weekdays begin. For now, the makers will be relieved to see the film picking up pace, especially while sharing screens with Teja Sajja’s big-ticket superhero outing Mirai.
