
On Thursday, Chiranjeevi met cricket sensation Tilak Varma on the sets of his upcoming movie Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu. The veteran actor felicitated Tilak for his immense contribution in India’s glorious victory against Pakistan in the recently held Asia Cup final.
On the occasion, Chiranjeevi also presented him a framed photograph of a moment from the said match, and gifted him a shawl as a token of respect. Chiranjeevi also praised Tilak Varma for his calm and composed attitude during his innings against Pakistan, and said that ‘hard work and discipline are the guide to success not only in sports but also in life.’
Other leading team members like Nayanthara, director Anil Ravipudi, and producer Sushmita Konidela were present on the occasion too.
Tilak Varma, who natively hails from Hyderabad made his International debut in 2023. In the recently held Asia Cup finals, where India played against Pakistan, Tilak Varma played a crucial innings and scored 69 runs, leading India to a victory by 5 wickers. Tilak was also awarded ‘Player of the Match’ for his performance.
Meanwhile, the shooting of Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu is going on at a brisk pace, and the film is on track for a grand release on the occasion of Sankranthi 2026. The film’s recently released single, ‘Meesala Pilla’, has already become a chartbuster, and is all over social media, with many couples recreating the playful banter and dance steps from the song video. On YouTube, the song has already garnered more than 17 million hits.
Produced under the banner of Shine Screens and Goldbox Entertainments, Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu promises to showcase Chiranjeevi in a light-hearted avatar after a long time, also marking his maiden collaboration with Anil Ravipudi. Bheems Ceciroleo is composing music for the film.
