Gulshan Devaiah, who natively hails from Karnataka, made his Kannada debut recently with the Rishab Shetty starrer Kantara: Chapter 1. He is also part of the recently-announced Netflix series Legacy, which marks his Tamil debut. However, the actor is yet to work in Telugu cinema. In a recent interactions on his X page , Gulshan Devaiah expressed his definitive conditions in order to work in Telugu cinema.
Gulshan has also been actively interacting with his fans on X, answering questions about his experience working in Kantara as well as his professional life in general. When asked by one of his fans ‘Telugu debut when?’ in one of those AMA sessions, Gulshan Devaiah replied, ‘only if Samantha or Sai Pallavi say yes.’
Co-incidentally, one of Gulshan Devaiah’s more popular works include the web-series Guns & Gulaabs, which was created by filmmaker duo Raj-DK who had also directed Samantha’s last major acting gig Citadel: Honey Bunny. Samantha was seen sharing screen with Varun Dhawan in the action series. Samantha’s last major Telugu film appearance, however, was back in 2023 in the Gunasekhar film Shakuntalaam.
In Kantara: Chapter 1, Gulshan Devaiah was seen playing the role of a royal prince named Kulsekhara in the film, for which he garnered a lot of praise. In our review for the film, we wrote of Gulshan’s performance, “Gulshan Devaiah embodies menace in Kulashekara, although the script gives him a typical antagonist role, much like characters such as Pramod Shetty and others.”
