

Prabhas is gearing up for the release of The Raja Saab, his first major film since Kalki 2898 AD. While the film is slated for Sankranthi 2026 release, there were a few reports doing rounds about makers planning to postpone the release yet again, owing to heavy VFX work. On Tuesday, The Raja Saab makers issued an official statement, putting the rumours to rest.
People Media Factory, the film’s production banner, penned on their X page, “The Raja Saab, the team wishes to clarify that all such rumours regarding a postponement from Sankranthi 2026 are entirely baseless. The Raja Saab will hit theatres worldwide on January 9th, 2026 as officially announced."
Sharing an update on the post-production work for The Raja Saab, the banner noted, “the post production work is progressing at a brisk pace maintaining the highest technical standards without any delay. Every department is operating in perfect sync to ensure that the film reaches audiences in its most spectacular form."
Besides informing that they shall soon release the promotional materials rollout 'with the biggest bangers in the business,' People Media Factory also assured Prabhas fans about a smooth, timely and grand release, suggesting Prabhas fans to 'Ignore all the rumours and enjoy the euphoria and excitement this Sankranthi will bring.'
In a now deleted post, People Media Factory had mentioned that the first copy of their film will be ready by December, and that they are they are planning a grand pre-release event in the US in late December.
Billed as a horror-comedy, The Raja Saab marks maiden collaboration between Prabhas and Maruthi. The film additionally stars Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, Riddhi Kumar, Sanjay Dutt and Boman Irani.
In the technical team, The Raja Saab has Karthik Palani as the cinematographer. Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao as the editor and Rajeevn as the production designer. Thaman S has composed music for the film. The action choreography is by Ram Lakshman and King Solomon.
Upon it’s release, The Raja Saab will clash against many other big films like Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu, Anaganaga Oka Raju, and Nari Nari Naduma Murari, which too will release on the festive occasion of Sankranthi.
