Post the success of Lucky Baskhar, Dulquer Salmaan has seemingly decided to venture into Telugu cinema with broader steps. Earlier this month, we had reported about the launch of DQ41, which is directed by debutant Ravi Nelakuditi. Now reports are coming in that the DQ41 makers are strongly considering Pooja Hegde to play the female lead opposite Dulquer Salmaan.
If the rumours are true, this will be the first time Pooja and Dulquer will be sharing screen. Pooja Hegde has been in the limelight recently for her appearance in the ‘Monica’ song video from Coolie that became an overnight chartbuster. The catchy Anirudh number has garnered more than 10 crore hits on YouTube to date.
However, It’s been a while since Pooja Hegde was seen in a full-fledged role in Telugu cinema. Her last major appearance was in the 2022 film Acharya. Pooja’s other upcoming projects include Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, wherein she will be seen sharing the screen space with Varun Dhawan. Directed by David Dhawan, the film is touted to be a lighthearted rom-com. Meanwhile, Dulquer’s upcoming projects include Kaantha and Aakasamlo Oka Tara, the latter being a Telugu project. Kaantha is scheduled to hit theatres next month.
DQ41 is being produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri under the SLV Cinemas banner, marking the production house’s milestone 10th venture, SLV10. The film is reportedly being mounted as a contemporary love story intertwined with rich drama. The DQ41 launch ceremony was graced by Nani, Srikanth Odela and Buchi Babu Sana, alongwith Gunnam Sandeep and Ramya Gunnam. The technical team for the film includes GV Prakash Kumar for music, Anay Om Goswamy as cinematographer and Avinash Kolla handling production design. Regular shooting has commenced, and the film is planned for a release in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi and Kannada.
