Director Tamizharasan Pachamuthu of Lubber Pandhu fame is working on his next film, starring Dhanush and tentatively titled D56. Recently, the film was commenced with a conventional pooja ceremony in Madurai. On Tuesday, the Lubber Pandhu director addressed a fan's speculation about the upcoming film. The internet user asked the filmmaker whether the first look for the film would arrive in time for Diwali. In response, the director said that it would not be unveiled at that time and that any promotional material related to the film would only come after the release of Om.
As reported earlier, the makers of Dhanush's next film Om postponed its release from October 16 to November 20 to avoid a clash with Jailer 2, starring Rajinikanth.
Coming back to D56, the film also stars Preity Mukhundhan, SJ Suryah, Vadivelu and Vijay B Kumar. The cast includes Baththa child artist Sai Sai Prithvi Raj as well.
In a recent conversation with SS Music, the child actor revealed that the makers of the upcoming film roped him in for it after his performance in Baththa, opposite Vijay Sethupathi, impressed them.
Meanwhile, production on the upcoming Dhanush starrer is underway. The film is produced by Naga Vamsi under the Sithara Entertainments banner, alongside S Haritha Lingasamy of Primark Productions and Sai Soujanya.
On the technical front, D56 has composer Sai Abhyankkar. The film is expected to have a summer 2027 release in theatres. The makers of the film are yet to announce further information about it, including its storyline and release date.
Dhanush was most recently seen in Kara, directed by Vignesh Raja of Por Thozhil fame. Besides D56 and Om, the actor's upcoming films also include an Ilaiyaraaja biopic, a film based on the life and career of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, and a project with the actor's Karnan director Mari Selvaraj.
