After Chief Minister Vijay allocated the Film Technology and Cinematograph Act portfolio to Minister Rajmohan, actor Vishal penned a note on X, criticising the decision two weeks ago. Now, Rajmohan has responded to the criticism.
For the unversed, Vishal, in his note, expressed whether Rajmohan is experienced enough to be in the position and whether he has enough knowledge of what is going on in Tamil cinema at a grassroots level.
Rajmohan, who attended the launch of Romeo Pictures' next production, was asked about the criticism. He said, "I will do my duty and work even for actor Vishal, who criticised the party for making me a cabinet minister. I will work to earn his trust and also make my chief minister proud. He may not know me, but I've watched his films and I like him as an actor."
In the same X post, actor Vishal also made a few requests to CM Vijay. The actor requested the CM to:
1. "Introduce a government ticketing window, which will bring revenue to the government as well as relief to viewers who pay 30 Rs per ticket."
2. "Abolish local body tax, as we are the only state in India to impose 2 taxes against the 'one India, one tax' rule."
3. "Increase the subsidy for small films every year from the current meagre amount given."
Vishal suggested that these demands have been made to the Tamil Nadu government for the past nine years. He signed off, saying, "Not demeaning Mr Rajmohan, but it's just my opinion. CM can give us the much-needed relief."
Despite his criticism earlier, Vishal expressed his gratitude to CM Vijay three days ago for approving a request for five shows for films on the first week of their releases.
