It is well known that actor and avid racer Ajith Kumar is reuniting with director Adhik Ravichandran once again after their latest hit Good Bad Ugly for AK64. While the announcement was made last year, the film has been facing significant delays and is yet to go on floors. At this juncture, it has now come to light as to what may have caused the delays.
According to reports, Ajith Kumar's film has been on hold as major production companies have not been able to afford his remuneration and speculations are rife about Sun Pictures coming on board to back the yet-to-be-titled project. However, a confirmation regarding the same is awaited.
The production company last backed Rajinikanth's Coolie and has Jailer 2, Lokesh Kanagaraj's DC and Allu Arjun's Raaka awaiting release.
While details regarding AK64 is currently unknown, Adhik Ravichandran had previously said, "Good Bad Ugly was made purely for the fans of Ajith sir. But AK64 won't be like that. It will be an action entertainer with a solid screenplay that will also pull in the family audience."
Ajith was last seen in Adhik Ravichandran's Good Bad Ugly which was released earlier last year. The film also starred Trisha, Arjun Das, Sunil, Prabhu, Prasanna, Karthikeya Dev, Priya Prakash Varrier, Jackie Shroff, Shine Tom Chacko, Tinnu Anand, BS Avinash and Raghu Ram.
Meanwhile, the actor's racing endeavours are set to be made into a feature-length film, directed by Vijay. Titled Gladiators, it is set to showcase how he along with his team overcame major challenges and secured podium finishes in leading championships. The film is presented by Ajith Kumar Sports Services LLC.
