Actor Vijay's entry into politics and his first elections as a contender in the chief ministerial race have created a wave of political interest in youngsters this year. The general public are eagerly awaiting the election results, scheduled for Monday.

Now, actor, director, and politician Sundar C has opined on Ajith joining politics after Vijay. “If someone else from the film industry were to enter politics, I would definitely urge Ajith Kumar sir to consider it. I had the chance to interact with him personally years ago, and he is deeply concerned about society, even if he comes across as reserved in public. In politics, it’s not just about who enters, but who people are willing to listen to — and Ajith holds that kind of influence," he said in an interview with Behindwoods.

Ajith Kumar recently made headlines when he came to Chennai, taking a break from his racing tour, in order to cast his vote in the recent Tamil Nadu State Assembly elections. Fans were also eager to celebrate his birthday on May 1. Posters for the actor-racer had filled walls across the state, with one intriguing poster catching the attention of social media users. The poster read, "A man who reached the peak as an actor! A winner as a car racing champion! What next tomorrow?". His fans have also been advocating for the actor-racer's political entry.

Ajith Kumar is currently awaiting a docu-film on his endeavours on the race track. Helmed by director Vijay, a release date for it is yet to be announced. On the big screen, he was last seen in Adhik Ravichandran's Good Bad Ugly and is set to reunite with him for AK64, which is yet to go on floors.

Meanwhile, Sundar C has two films in the pipeline as director. He has completed production on Mookuthi Amman 2, headlined by Nayanthara. He is filming Purushan, starring Vishal, Tamannaah, and Yogi Babu in lead roles. He recently contested in the Tamil Nadu State Assembly elections as a candidate from the Madurai Central Assembly constituency on behalf of the Puthiya Needhi Katchi.
