Actor-politician Kamal Haasan recently wrapped his extensive campaign for the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) for the Tamil Nadu assembly elections and is all set to get back to his film commitments. It is well-known that he is backing Rajinikanth's Thalaivar 173, directed by Ciby Chakravarthi which is yet to commence shooting. He is also joining hands with Rajinikanth after four decades for KH x RK from filmmaker Nelson. However, speculations are now rife about the veteran headlining a Hollywood film for the first time.
According to unconfirmed reports, Shruti Haasan set to script the film and is actively pushing for the project to be greenlit. The actor-singer had previously acted in an English film The Eye, helmed by Daphne Schmon which also starred Mark Rowley in a key role.
Earlier, there were reports about Kamal flying to the US for his film with stunt director duo Anbariv's film KH 237, which has not had an update since late last year. But it looks like his international travels were for Shruti Haasan's project. While these rumours have been circulating online, there has been no confirmation from either of the actors.
Kamal Haasan has also actively traveled to the United States to study Artificial Intelligence and explore its practical applications in filmmaking. He enrolled in a course on AI at a premier institution and completed a 45-day intensive term before returning to India. He also visited the Perplexity AI headquarters in San Francisco, meeting extensively with CEO Aravind Srinivas and discussing how AI and emerging technologies are actively reshaping creative arts.
Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan is also a part of Nag Ashwin's big-budget sequel to Kalki 2898 AD, headlined by a star cast consisting of Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan. Deepika Padukone will not be a part of the second film.
