
Veteran actor Kamal Haasan visited the headquarters of Perplexity, an AI-powered search platform which has been at the forefront of global innovation headquartered in San Francisco. During his visit, the Vikram actor met with Aravind Srinivas, co-founder and CEO of company.
Known for pushing boundaries and exploration latest technologies, Kamal Haasan's meeting with Aravind Srinivas hints at using advanced AI tools in filmmaking, possibly in his upcoming film Thug Life with director Mani Ratnam.
Following the visit, Kamal Haasan shared his reflections on social media: “From cinema to Silicon, the tools evolve—but our thirst for what’s next remains. Inspired by my visit to Perplexity HQ in San Francisco, where Indian ingenuity shines through Aravind Srinivas and his brilliant team building the future—one question at a time. Curiosity didn’t kill the cat — it created Aravind Srinivas and Perplexity AI!”
Reciprocating his kind gesture, Aravind Srinivas also expressed his admiration for the actor: “Was great to meet and host you Kamal Haasan at the Perplexity office! Your passion to still learn and incorporate cutting-edge technology in filmmaking is inspirational! Wish you the best for Thug Life and the future projects you are working on!”
It is to be noted that the actor went to the US in 2024 in order to study Artificial Intelligence at a top institute.
Kamal Haasan is currently working on his much-anticipated upcoming film Thug Life which has music by AR Rahman. Kamal produces the film along with R Mahendran, Siva Ananth and Udhayanidhi Stalin. Ravi K Chandran is the cinematographer, with Sreekar Prasad as the editor. Stunts are handled by Anbariv, with costumes designed by Eka Lakhani.
The film, which stars an ensemble casting which includes Silambarasan, Trisha, Ashok Selvan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Joju George, Abhirami, Nassar, Mahesh Manjrekar, and Tanikella Bharan, among others, is set for a worldwide theatrical release on June 5, 2025.
