Earlier this Tuesday, Chief Minister Vijay ordered the closure of liquor stores owned and operated by TASMAC that are located within the 500 metre radius of educational institutions, places of worship and bus termini. It has been billed as the CM's first big administrative decision and has drawn some support from within and beyond the film industry. Take actor Vishal, for instance.
Appearing in video on Instagram, Vishal appreciated the new CM of Tamil Nadu for the big call. "Kudos to you ,whistles to you. Hats off to you. Dear CM Joseph Vijay avargal. Thank you for the announcement to close 717 wine shops especially the ones near schools. What a move," Vishal wrote as caption for the video post.
Vishal explained the significance of the decision, writing, "So many girl children have been facing harassment especially the one I know in RK Nagar where a girl student was complaining of having to go through the stress crossing the TASMAC store and reaching home everyday." Referring to Vijay, he added, "She and so many of the common public will hail you and your decision. With a smile on so many faces including mine with this decision of our CM will be everlasting from this menace. God bless u dearest Vijay. I salute u and your government today."
Earlier, after Vijay's oath-taking ceremony, Vishal joined a chorus of supporters to congratulate the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. At the time, Vishal made some special requests to the CM, including the enhancement of comfort of female constables at the minister's residence, repair of old roads that face water logging issues, the improvement of the stormwater drainage system, and so forth.
