Karthi, last seen in Vaa Vaathiyaar, is currently working on Marshal. As per reports, the actor is now all set to join hands with Mad director Kalyan Shankar. The film will also, speculatively, star Meenakshi Chaudhary as the female lead, with Yogi Babu also cast in a key role.
If reports are to be believed, Sithara Entertainments is backing this film, which is set to go on floors this Friday at Ramoji Film City. However, an official announcement from the film's team is awaited.
Kalyan Shankar made his feature directorial debut with Mad in 2023 and followed it up with Mad Square in 2025. His first directorial venture was the web series Nenu Mee Kalyan in 2017. He has also worked as a writer in films like Tillu Square and Hero and in the Navarasa web series.
Meanwhile, Karthi is currently working on Marshal, helmed by director Tamizh of Taanakaran fame. The film features Karthi and Kalyani Priyadarshan in the lead and boasts an extensive supporting cast, including Sathyaraj, Prabhu, Lal, John Kokken, and Eswari Rao. Set in the 1960s, the film aims to recreate the era with meticulous detail, backed by a substantial budget.
KarthiIn the pipeline, he has Sardar 2 helmed by PS Mithran. While he has completed shooting for the film, a release date for the sequel is yet to be announced. Recently, reports emerged that he will reunite with Pandiraaj after Kadaikutty Singam, backed by Suriya under his 2D Entertainment banner. However, official confirmation is awaited.
On the other hand, Meenakshi Chaudhary's last performance was in Anaganaga Oka Raju opposite Naveen Polishetty. She has Vrushakarma, Bhagam Bhag 2 and an untitled Venky Atluri web series in her pipeline.
